Primary Source

The Graduate believes that among family that is dysfunction, at some point it is up to you to break out of it. The movie and book alike show Benjamin at first consumed by it and by the end liberated by it. His character development throughout the story supports this. I completely agree with this point of view and plan to discuss my life and psychological undertones to support this.

You should care about this research because this is a universal issue when "graduating" to adulthood and life. I will show that society and family can only hold you back if you let it.

  1. I think that this is a good topic to use for your research paper but I am not sure if it is a universal issue. Some people do have strong families and want their kids to grow and help them instead of hold them back from their future. But I do know some people that did have to face issues with family and still are and their families are still holding them back from what they could do with their lives so I understand and want to read what you have to say about this topic. Just make sure it isn't to broad and put examples throughout your paper.

  2. I think you have a good point to go with your paper. It sounds like you have a great direction in taking it and will be able to stick to your topic well. Everyone's families are unique and different so I think it's neat that you are writing about one perspective of family life..... (sorry my prompt was on the wrong one when you wrote on it) i was in a hurry and could of swore I was writing on the right one for once! ugh!)
